Join the 502 Power Yoga community for 8 days and 7 nights at Villa Sumaya on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. In addition to the power yoga classes you know and love from Cat & Stephanie, we will explore the volcano-rimmed lake, feast on homemade vegetarian cuisine, experience the Mayan culture, and indulge in a multitude of holistic healing modalities.

What’s included

Your enrollment (fees listed below) includes:

  • 7 Nights on Lake Atitlan – 8 days and 7 nights at a beautiful lakefront retreat center in Santa Cruz la Laguna.
  • Three buffet meals per day – Each meal will be a blend of local and international vegetarian cuisine. Vegan and gluten-free options will be available for each meal.
  • Unlimited coffee + tea –The self-service hot beverage bar offers 30 varieties of tea, and organic coffee.
  • Yoga + Meditation – Enjoy twice daily classes designed to rejuvenate, inspire, and empower your yoga practice.
  • Guided Kayak Paddle & Cliff Jump – We’ll paddle for about 30 minutes to a special cliff-jumping spot and swimming area. Choose your level of adventure—jumps range from 3-30 feet above the lake. Or choose to simply paddle or swim and watch the jumpers!
  • Mayan Fire Ceremony – A local Mayan spiritual guide will facilitate this fire ceremony which includes foundational teachings about the Mayan calendar day count and the co-creation of the sacred fire.
  • Cacao Ceremony – The Mayans have used cacao in ceremonies for ages to connect with their hearts. We invite you to do the same in this sacred ceremony steeped in ritual and reflective heart circle sharing.
  • Sacred Sweat Lodge Ceremony – Experience a powerful sharing circle in a handcrafted sweat lodge heated with hot volcanic stones and medicinal herbs. We’ll sing sacred chants to open our hearts while herbal tea and cacao cleanse and lift the emotional body. This revitalizing experience will leave you feeling inspired and rejuvenated.

  • Airfare – Select the flight that works best for you!
  • Transfers – Arrive on suggested flights to share transfers. We can arrange transfers at a reduced rate.
  • Additional Excursions – Loads of incredible guided tours, hikes, ceremonies, and spa treatments are available to add to your retreat.
  • Juices, smoothies, alcohol and treats – At the juice bar you can order smoothies as well as home-brewed strawberry ginger kombucha. Local beers, wine and mixed drinks are served until 9:00 pm.
  • Tips + Gratuities – Please tip your staff!
  • Travel Insurance – It is recommended that you secure travel insurance in case something goes wrong!

Lodging and Rates

The lodging at Villa Sumaya is designed to be comfortable, romantic, and authentic. The rooms are richly decorated with hand-crafted furniture and decor. Every brick, paving stone, piece of window glass, and decorative tile was lovingly transported to Sumaya by boat and then carried by hand to its respective location.

 

There are rooms available for all budgets: Share a 3-bed room with a few yoga pals or have a luxurious King-sized bed to yourself, plus several options in between. All are spacious with private bathrooms.

Maya Rose House

Maya Rose is a lakefront property with 6 charming rooms. Each room has a private bath, a semi-private patio with cozy seating, and can accommodate 1-2 people. Conveniently located near the central courtyard, dining room, gardens, and boutique, these rooms are best for anyone with mobility issues.

Skyline Bungalows

These three private bungalows feature 1 queen or 2 twin beds, unique bathrooms, outdoor seating and magnificent lake views. Perched on the hillside, these rooms require a climb up several sets of stairs. Perfect for couples or those wanting a bit more privacy.

Lotus House

The 3-story Lotus House features 6 spacious rooms (2 on each floor) and Tara Temple (one of the practice spaces) on the top floor. These rooms are best for groups of yoga pals, sleeping up to three, either in three twin beds, or a king bed + twin. Each room has a private bathroom and private balcony with views of the lake or garden.

Lotus Suites

These cozy junior suites offer luxury, style, and private balconies with lovely views. One of the Junior Suites offers a queen bed in the main room with a twin bed in a separate sitting room separated by a sliding wooden door.

These are the most luxurious and deluxe accommodations with majestic balconies and elegant antique furnishings. These suites involve a climb upstairs but your effort will be rewarded with stunning views of Lake Atitlan.
