Rocket Training: May 31–June 2, 2024
Rocket Yoga is a vigorous yet playful vinyasa yoga practice created by Larry Schultz for the Grateful Dead. Bob Weir named this rebellious remix of the rigid Ashtanga series “rocket” because “it gets you there faster.” The Rocket is a physically challenging yet playful practice that allows plenty of freedom and creativity. We are excited to host a long time student of Larry Schulz, Amber Jean, a.k.a. “Rocket Girl,” here in Louisville, KY for a 20-hour Rocket Immersion and Teacher Training.

Who is this training for?
This training is designed for 200-hour certified yoga teachers or individuals currently enrolled in yoga teacher training, but anyone who wants to deepen their practice and learn more about the Rocket practice from a seasoned instructor is welcome to attend.
What to Expect
In this 20-hour Immersion, we will do an in-depth study of the Rocket System as designed by Larry Schulz. We will practice Rocket 1, 2, and 3, learn the philosophy behind the Rocket system, cross train for handstand and forearm stand, study advanced arm balance and headstand transitions, and practice hands-on-assists. You will leave this training ready to teach Bottle Rocket 1, a shortened version of the Rocket 1 sequence.

Your Facilitator
Amber Jean, a.k.a. “Rocket Girl,” is the founder of Rocket Yoga Academy and her studio in Cincinnati, Yoga ah. She was one of the first Rocket Yoga instructors in the United States after graduating from her first Teacher Training with Larry Schultz, the founder of Rocket Yoga, in May 2000.
Amber Jean began assisting Larry in his Rocket training intensives in San Francisco, and after 10 years with Larry, he granted her to lead Rocket Yoga Teacher Trainings in Cincinnati. To this day, her teaching upholds the spirit, philosophy, and methodology handed down to her by her teacher and friend, Larry Schulz.
